Carols by Candlelight

Kick start the festive season at Hume’s Carols by Candlelight on Saturday 7 December. 

Much loved singer and actor Johnny Ruffo will host a fantastic cast, featuring pop sensation Chantoozies and amazing local performers and school choirs, at Craigieburn ANZAC Park.

Where: Craigieburn ANZAC Park, Corner Marathon Boulevard and Windrock Avenue, Craigieburn

Program: Everyone is welcome to join us for the biggest party this Christmas. We have some of Australia’s best entertainers to get you into the spirit of the season. See the program overview below:

From 5pm – Kids activities, roving performers and food truck festival

5.30pm - 7pm - Carols by Candlelight: School Choirs, including:

Food Truck Festival: Along with some of the best free all-ages entertainment, Hume Carols by Candlelight will also offer a taste of the world with a range of food trucks for people to choose from, including:

Roving Performers: Laughter will abound when our roving performers are on-site. Entertainment for the young and young at heart will run from 5pm until 7pm and includes:

  • Santa's Meet and Greet
  • Christmas story time art and craft
  • Face painting
  • Christmas kids cooking classes
  • Christmas Silent Disco
  • Roving Giant Elves

What to bring: Enjoy Hume’s Carols by Candlelight with your family and friends and bring along:

  • A hat and sunscreen to stay sun safe. If rain is forecast, pack a coat;
  • Picnic essentials (alcohol not permitted) and a picnic rug to sit and enjoy the stage entertainment;
  • Bring cash to purchase food, drink and amusements (ATM also available); and
  • A drink bottle and reusable bag to help us reduce plastic waste at this year’s festival.

Fireworks: Hume’s Carols by Candlelight will conclude with a 10-minute fireworks display between 9.20pm – 9.30pm. Fireworks, whilst entertaining for humans, can be a little scary for four-legged friends. Please ensure your pets are suitably restrained/brought inside prior to the fireworks being let off. This will prevent them from getting out and getting themselves lost after the event.

Parking: Parking is always limited at Carols by Candlelight so public transport, cycling and walking is encouraged.

Community Bus: A community bus is available to residents of Sunbury, Roxburgh Park, Craigieburn and Broadmeadows. To register your spot on the bus, click here.

Disability Access: This event is wheelchair accessible and will have an onstage Auslan interpreter.

First Aid: First aid services will be located on Craigieburn ANZAC Park for the duration of the event.

Safety: Victoria Police and security will be at Carols by Candlelight for the duration of the event. This is a drug and alcohol-free event. No smoking is permitted onsite.

Toilets: Additional toilets including accessible toilets will be on site.

Baby Change and Breast-Feeding: A nursing mother’s facility will be available on site.

Lost Children: Parents or guardians are responsible at all times for the supervision and wellbeing of their children. A Lost Children’s point will be allocated at the Event Information marquee and will be manned for the duration of the event. Paper wristbands will be available at Lost Children point for parents to write their phone number on and attach to their child – in the instance they wander off.

Video and Photography: A photographer and a videographer will be onsite during the event. Photographs/footage will be used for promotional purposes on the Hume City Council’s website and social media sites. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let the photographer/ videographer know.
