Foster community connections, help empower residents to take action and pass on your project skills.

This online event is for people who have expressed interest in becoming a volunteer mentor for a community project as part of this year's Hume Enviro Champions program.

If you have experience supporting community projects or want to build your mentoring skills, we'd love to hear from you!

Mentors will spend an hour per fortnight supporting a community environmental project to get off the ground in the Hume municipality. Projects include the creation of a new Friends Group in Sunbury, enhancing wildlife corridors and walking / cycling connectivity in Craigieburn, a neighbourhood street community project in Greenvale, just to name a few.

This training will be delivered by facilitator Matt Wicking. Matt is the facilitator of Hume's Enviro Champions program, former Lead Facilitator at the Centre for Sustainability Leadership, former environmental educator at the Monash Sustainable Development Institute and a leading sustainability consultant.

Contact Hume's Environment Community Development Officer, Jo Burton envirochampions@hume.vic.gov.au or 0455 091 999 for more information. An invite to the online training and all relevant meeting details will be forwarded to mentors closer to the training date.
