NDIS Information Session
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will be rolled out in Hume and Moreland in March 2018. This informative session will cover:

  • What you need to know about the roll out of the NDIS in Hume and Moreland
  • Basics on the NDIS in a user-friendly format: what it is, who can benefit, what it funds and how it works
  • Hear from people who have transitioned to the scheme.
  • All your questions answered, both personal and technical.

Christine Scott, VALiD Self Advocacy/NDIS Engagement Coordinator
Christine Scott has many years working within the disability system as a parent of a young adult with a disability who has been funded by the NDIS since 2013. Christine also works at VALiD (Victorian Advocacy League for Individuals with Disability) and has guided individuals and their families through the NDIS in the three Victorian launch sites.

Manager Association of Children with a Disability Support – Diane McCarthy
Diane will discuss what the NDIS will mean for children with a disability, their families and carers.
Parent and Carer – Christine Stow
Has first-hand experience on preparing for the NDIS and will share her experiences.
