Christmas celebrations ramp up in December

Hume City Council continues to get into the festive spirit with upcoming free Christmas carols events, as well as decorations being displayed in the City this month.

“Council is truly in the thick of December festivities with the display of our Christmas tree and other decorations at Broadmeadows Civic Plaza.

“Along with decorations, Council will be holding Christmas in the Plaza, a free Christmas event at Broadmeadows Civic Plaza.

“There will be free kids activities, a meet and greet with Santa and Christmas performances by local schools from 12-2pm on Thursday 15 December.

“Hume City Council also proudly sponsors Sunbury’s Christmas on the Green, a free Christmas carols event on Saturday 10 December from 5-8.45pm,” Cr Jessop said.

“We encourage everyone to make the most of these events, as these festivities will entertain people of all ages.”

Cr Jessop also thanked the thousands of people who attended Carols by Candlelight in Craigieburn on Saturday night and declared the event a huge success.

“Carols by Candlelight was a fantastic success and even bigger than it has been in previous years,” Cr Jessop said.

“We sincerely thank the thousands of families and friends who came out to Craigieburn ANZAC Park. You created such a loud, festive atmosphere on the night!”

Carols by Candlelight was hosted by ARIA award winning artist Anthony Callea and featured performances from Aydan Calafiore, The Jingle Belles and Victoria K, along with a range of food trucks and free activities.
