Applications: Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group

Flags

Background

Hume City Council established a Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group (RAPWG) in June 2019. Applications to join the Working Group have now closed. Thank you to those who applied.

The RAPWG acts as an advisory body to Hume City Council on issues affecting Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples – the First Nations peoples of Australia (referred to throughout this document as First Nations people).

We encourage applications from Traditional Owners; First Nations people; community members who live, work, or study in Hume; and individuals attached to a local organisation with a demonstrated commitment to supporting the rights and well-being of the First Nations people and an understanding of issues impacting upon community.

Purpose of the Working Group

The purpose of the RAPWG is to inform Council of the key issues, concerns and priorities of First Nations people and to provide advice and feedback on Council’s policies, plans and services that aim to support participation and provide input to the delivery of services and programs relevant to the local First Nations community.

Time commitment

The RAP Working Group currently meet monthly on a Thursday night.
