Consultation update:

Hume City Council recently considered a proposal to name the unnamed reserve located at 14 Stewards Lane Sunbury the ‘Carmel Edmends Reserve’, in honour of the late Mrs Carmel Edmends.

During the consultation period no objections were received from the community, and Council resolved at its meeting on 25 February 2019 to endorse the name of ‘Carmel Edmends Reserve’ for this location.

In accordance with the Naming Rules for Places in Victoria – Statutory Requirements for Naming Roads, Features and Localities – 2016, and Hume City Council’s Place Names Policy, Council will be submitting the endorsed name to the Office of Geographic Names for their consideration. The Office of Geographic Names will make the final decisions on whether to approve this proposed name.
