Proposal to name a new reserve 'Angela Potts' Park'

Hume City Council is inviting Hume residents to have their say on a proposal to name an unnamed reserve in the Rosenthal Estate the 'Angela Potts' Park'. In accordance with the Naming Rules for Places in Victoria – Statutory Requirements for Naming Roads, Features and Localities – 2016, and Hume City Council’s Place Names Policy, Council is inviting local residents to have their say on this naming proposal.

A new unnamed reserve is located in Rosenthal Estate on Elizabeth Drive and Monash Court in Sunbury. The proposal to name the new reserve was made by Urban Design and Management Pty Ltd on 8 February 2018, on behalf of the family of the Late Mrs Angela Margaret Millett (nee Potts). Ms Millett (nee Potts), who was born and raised in Sunbury, resided on the land at Rosenthal where she lived with her husband and raised their seven children. Ms Millett was very active in the local Sunbury community, volunteering at local schools, sporting groups and other community events/initiatives.

Council’s reasons for considering this proposal are detailed in Council Report number GE346 - Proposal to Name a New Reserve Located in the Rosenthal Estate 'Angela Potts' Park'-  from the Council meeting of 11 June 2019. The report can be accessed here. A hard copy of the report can be obtained from any of Council’s Customer Service Centres.
