Responsible Gaming Policy Review 2018

Hume City Council is currently reviewing its Responsible Gaming Policy and residents are invited to share their opinions and experiences of gambling, to help inform the new policy.

The current policy assists Council to respond to the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation (VCGLR) on gaming applications in Hume City and our neighbouring municipalities, as well encouraging community awareness of the potential impacts of gaming.

Council recognises that gambling is a legal, recreational activity. However, in instances where gambling becomes problematic or an addiction, it can result in harm to individuals, families and the broader community.

You can learn more about Electronic Gaming Machines and their impacts on the Hume community by reading Council’s background issues paper.

You can get involved by attending a community workshop or by completing our online survey.

Three community workshops are being held across Hume City to inform Council’s review of the Responsible Gaming Policy. Refreshments will be provided at all sessions.
