Sunbury Town Centre - Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) Study

As part of our ongoing commitment to Local Area Traffic Management (LATM), Council is undertaking a study of traffic issues within the Sunbury Town Centre area bounded by Macedon Street, Horne Street, Barkly Street and Station Street, as shown in the map below:

The study endeavours to proactively identify and manage traffic and parking issues within the study area.  The study includes a review of traffic speeds and volumes, a history of casualty crashes, pedestrian and cyclist facilities and parking issues.

With this in mind, Council is proposing to install traffic treatments as shown on the Proposed Traffic Management Plan. While parking issues have been investigated within the study area, there is no scope within this study for the construction of additional parking infrastructure. The focus of the parking aspect of the study is the management of the town centre’s parking demands through alterations to existing parking restrictions, within the current parking provision.

These proposals are only preliminary and before Council makes any decision on the treatments we asked for the opinions of local residents and businesses within the Sunbury Town Centre area.
