Community Connections and Partnership Grants

Grant Amount: Up to $20,000

Community Connections and Partnership Grants are for projects that clearly and immediately respond to the COVID-19 restrictions and embrace the principles of social justice, healthy living, lifelong learning, environmental sustainability, community safety and inclusion.

Applicants for a Community Connections and Partnership Grant must be established organisations that have a proven record in the provision of quality programs and services.

Projects must address community social isolation and demonstrate the organisation’s capacity to resource and deliver projects.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be an incorporated not-for-profit community group or organisation
  • Demonstrate an ability to manage large scale projects
  • Demonstrate they have a strong Hume based community connection
  • Direct funding towards program delivery only, and cannot be used for core administration costs
  • Have satisfactorily acquitted any previous funding received by Hume City Council
  • Have no outstanding debts with Hume City Council
  • Give a detailed project delivery plan with clearly identified target groups
  • Ensure that if any equipment is purchased that it must remain property of the organisation

Community Adaptation and Participation Grants

Grant Amount: Up to $2,000

Community Adaptation and Participation Grants support groups and organisations to run creative and innovative activities to engage community members during COVID-19 restrictions, whilst adhering to the stay at home directives and social distancing requirements.

Council is seeking applications from not-for-profit community groups with ideas to engage community members through distance participation. E.g Sending group members to online training courses i.e. “How to design online delivery”, support for distanced participation in social, educational, leisure, health and wellbeing programs or activities such as: video conferencing, online programs, necessary equipment to move to online delivery etc.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a not-for-profit community group or organisation
  • Be able to demonstrate immediate impact of the COVID-19 restrictions on the organisation or community group
  • Have no outstanding debts with Hume City Council
  • Have satisfactorily acquitted any previous funding received by Hume City Council
  • Be incorporated or auspiced  
  • Ensure that if any equipment is purchased that it must remain property of the organisation

Technology Access and Support Grant

Grant Amount: Up to $1,000

Funding in this category is available to support individuals with limited skills or equipment/technology to access education, community connections or employment due to COVID-19 restrictions. This could include funding requests for the purchase of iPads, laptops, internet dongle (or temporary plan upgrade), or purchase of microphone and headset for better quality communications.

Applicants will be asked to supply a quote for item/s requested.

Please note: In conjunction with Enable Social Enterprises, Council may be able to help you purchase refurbished laptops. In the application form, you will be asked to indicate if you are interested in this option. If approved, a Council Officer will then follow up with you regarding availability and purchase process. If you choose this option, you will not be required to supply a quote.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a Hume resident (you must provide evidence of residential status such as driver’s license, rates notice or utility bill)
  • Supply contact details of a supporting witness, local community organisation or service provider who can verify the individual does not currently have access to the requested purchase item
  • Have no outstanding debts with Hume City Council
  • Have satisfactorily acquitted any previous funding received by Hume City Council

Arts Activation Grant

Grant Amount: Up to $3,000

Funding in this category is for practicing artists in all disciplines - including (but not limited to) painting, sculpture, photography, textiles, drawing, music, theatre, dance, printmaking, ceramics, writing, new or mixed media - who need to adapt the delivery of their arts practice to engage/share with Hume City community members in new ways whilst adhering to social distancing directives.

Applicants must be individuals with a demonstrated record of activity. However, applicants may propose to engage other artists in the course of their project (for example a visual artist may include fees for a videographer etc).

Applicants scheduled to deliver/display work in the City of Hume that has now been cancelled are encouraged to apply.

Examples of projects include: online training and development opportunities, costs of adapting and presenting work to online or digital media formats, community development or participation programs.

Purchase of equipment up to $1000 can be included in the application.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a Hume resident (you must provide evidence of residential status such as driver’s license, rates notice or utility bill)
  • Have an active creative practice (demonstrated through documentation of works, exhibitions, performances)
  • Be facing financial hardship due to COVID-19 restrictions (demonstrated by loss of income or opportunity)
  • Have no outstanding debts with Hume City Council
  • Demonstrate a service/benefit to the broader Hume City community
  • Have satisfactorily acquitted any previous funding received by Hume City Council
