Eric Boardman Reserve Athletics Track is undergoing a $3+ million upgrade.

What are we doing?

Works have commenced to upgrade the existing grass athletics track at Boardman Reserve in Sunbury to a new synthetic athletics track with supporting infrastructure. The project involves:

  • converting the existing grass track to a new 400m long synthetic track
  • improving lighting within the area
  • building new shelters for athletes and spectator’s
  • installing new chainmesh fencing, including pedestrian gate access
  • building new club and user group storage equipment sheds
  • connecting pathways to transition throughout the entire sporting precinct
  • installing new sub-surface drainage and irrigation systems for the new turf.

Why are we doing it?

Sunbury is home to many established and emerging athletes, so we're working to provide a facility that will help our community to train, develop, connect and thrive.

When will it be completed?

Construction is due to be completed in 2024.
