Community Safety Month
You are invited to participate in the Community Safety Month activities!
Community Safety Month is held across Hume every October and reminds us that we all have a role to play in keeping our community safe.
The activities are focused on the four themes that ensure that Hume City is an ‘active, harmonious, safe city where everyone who lives, works or visits participates responsibly without fear or risk of injury’.
The four themes include:
- Community safety in the public realm
- Safety around the home
- Transport safety
- Family violence and women’s safety

Event Despcriptions:
Safe Plates:
One of the most common and easily preventable crimes is Number Plate theft. Across Victoria almost 30,000 number plates were reported stolen last year. Anti-theft screws are a easy to install way to deter number plate theft.
Come along to either receive or have installed anti-theft number plate screws for free and have a chat with our Community Safety Officer about other ways you can keep yourself and others safe in the community!
Community Safety Conversation Stall:
Hume City Council is developing a Community Safety action plan and want to hear from the community to support it’s development.
What are you current local safety concerns and what should the priorities should we take?
