We’re building the Merrifield Recreation Reserve to create new recreational facilities and sports opportunities in Mickleham. 

What we're doing

The Merrifield Recreation Reserve is being constructed in stages.

The first stage (civil and landscaping works) includes construction of the following:

  • 2 x cricket/football ovals
  • Sports lighting and electronic scoreboard on main (southern) oval
  • 6 x plexi-pave tennis courts with lighting 
  • Playground
  • Outdoor exercise equipment
  • Skate park
  • Dog park
  • Exeloo (public toilets)

The second stage of the project is the construction of the sports pavilion including the following components:

  • Social room with kitchen and bar
  • 4 x player changerooms, trainer’s rooms and amenity
  • 2 x official rooms
  • Club storeroom
  • Office

Why we’re doing it

The project will deliver a range of active and passive recreational facilities and sporting opportunities for the Mickleham community including the newly established tenant who will be located at the site, the Merrifield Panthers Sports Association.

When will the project be finished

Stage one construction will be completed May 2022 and stage two will be completed April 2023.

Partnerships

This project is being delivered in partnership between Hume City Council, MAB and the Victorian Government.
