Goonawarra Community Centre is a diverse venue with the ability to cater for an array of functions and activities. The venue comprises of a main hall which can be divided into two separate spaces, a meeting room and a well-appointed caterer’s kitchen. A small, enclosed playground is attached to the facility, making it the ideal space for children’s parties.

FAQs

What is provided as part of facility hire?

Furniture
Tables and chairs are provided for each bookable space. Furniture for the main hall is stored in a storeroom accessible by both sides of the hall, while the meeting room is set up with furniture that can be manoeuvred to suit your booking requirements.

The lightweight trestle tables are rectangular in shape and are 1.82m x 0.74m in size. For exact quantities please contact the bookings team.

Kitchen
This facility has a fully functioning caterers’ kitchen with everything you could need to cater for your function. Equipment includes a gas oven and cooktop, wall mounted urn, single door fridge, and microwave.
A servery into both the main hall and meeting room makes it easy to cater for your event.

Please note: Kitchen facilities are available for reheating purposes only. Cooking from raw ingredients is not permitted at this location.

Heating/Cooling
Central cooling is available centre wide and wall bank heaters are available to keep you nice and cosy in the winter.  

Is there parking available?

Yes, dedicated parking is available at this facility with 26 spaces, and 1 accessibility carpark. Public indented parking is also available around the facility. 

Is the venue accessibility friendly?

Yes, this venue is fully accessibility friendly.

Can we have a band or DJ play my event?

Yes, you can absolutely have a band or DJ play at your event. You are also welcome to entertain your guests by setting up your own speakers and playing your favourite playlist. 

However, please be mindful that this facility is located in a residential area and amplified music is therefore not permitted.

Can we decorate the facility for our event?

The Goonawarra Community Centre is a blank canvas that you can make your own by decorating the facility to suit your event or theme.

Permitted decorations include anything that is not fixed to the walls and will not damage the facility including: table decorations such as weighted balloon displays, flower arrangements, and any other items that can be affixed using non-marking adhesive such as blue tac.

Smoke machines, confetti cannons, candles, un-weighted helium balloons, and flammable materials such as hay bales are not permitted.

Can I have a jumping castle or animal farm at my event?

Absolutely - the Goonawarra Community Centre is a great place to have a jumping castle or animal farm. The venue backs onto an oval, part of which could be used for the set up of these items.

Approval and permits will apply, so please contact the bookings team for further information. 

Can I view the facility?

Yes, viewings can be arranged. Please contact the bookings team on 9356 6768 to book in a suitable time.
