Visit our resource recovery centres (tips)

Hume City Council manages two resource recovery centres located in Sunbury and Campbellfield.

Before you visit

Step 1.Check our opening hours

Our Resource Recovery Centres (tips) in Campbellfield and Sunbury are open 8am until 4pm, Monday to Sunday. Open hours are subject to change without notice on windy days. We're closed on ANZAC Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Total Fire Ban Days.

Step 2.Grab your licence or rates notice

For residential pricing, you must show your driver's licence with proof of Hume address. Homeowners and tenants are entitled to two free tip passes every year. You just need to bring a copy of your latest rates notice – your tip pass is the QR code on the back. A hard copy is best, but we can scan a digital version as long as the tip pass QR code is visible. If you're a tenant, the fastest way to get your tip pass is to visit a Customer Service Centre. You can also apply online.

If you forget your tip pass, you will not be able to get a refund later.

Tip passes are non-transferrable, and not for commercial use.

Step 3.Load your vehicle

Before you leave home, make sure your load is covered and safely secured. No tipping trailers are permitted. All trailers must be unloaded by hand, and you must stay in your vehicle unless unloading. Once you arrive, you'll need to follow all directions and signage from on-site staff.

Step 4.Leave your cash at home

Payment is by EFTPOS only. We are not currently accepting any cash transactions.
