About our city

Located in one of the most liveable cities in the world, Hume City is a great place to visit. Hume offers an abundance of different experiences all within a 30-minute drive North of Melbourne CBD, a 45-minute train ride from Flinders Street Station, or a 5-20 minute drive from Melbourne Airport.

An amazing array of historic buildings are on offer in Hume City, many of which have been adapted for modern day uses. The Sunbury region features many historic bluestone bridges, railway viaducts and churches and is home of the Sunbury Pop/Rock Festival. The area is also home to Victoria's Oldest Homestead - Emu Bottom Homestead (note this is only open for functions and events), built by George Evans in 1836. Sunbury also boasts the birthplace of the Ashes, where the Ashes Urn was first presented to touring English Cricket Captain Ivo Bligh.
