Reconciliation Week exhibition: Teena Moffat
In conjunction with Reconciliation Week, Hume-based Yorta Yorta, Gunaikurnai, Gunditjmara artist Teena Moffat shared some of her beautiful creations, stories and traditional skills through a pop-up exhibition, artist talk and workshop.
"My art connects my past, present and future. I do in honour of my grandmothers and grandfathers, my family and my bloodlines; to ensure my children feel a strong connection to their people and traditional ways."
Biography
Teena Moffatt is a Yorta Yorta, Gunaikurnai, Gunditjmara woman who has lived and worked in Hume and on Wurundjeri Country for almost 30 years. Creating possum cloaks, basket weaving, boorai carriers, as well as learning and passing on other traditional skills for her children and community has become a very important part of life.
