Sunbury Resource Recovery Centre reopening
Published on 25 August 2023
We are pleased to announce that the Sunbury Resource Recovery Centre will reopen at 8am on Saturday 26 August and is now under Council management.
Over the last few weeks our new team has been busy training and getting the site ready for customers. They can’t wait to meet local residents and show everyone what’s new!
A lot of work has gone into the site to improve safety and provide a better customer experience. The grounds and buildings have had a thorough clean up, and the garden areas have had a refresh thanks to our horticulture team. The vehicle areas are newly asphalted and new machinery has been installed.
Further improvements are still to come, including a new sorting shed, guardrails and directional signage, and – most importantly – restocking the Recycled Goods Store. While the store is currently empty, we can’t wait to fill it up again with quality secondhand goodies and products made from recycled and recovered materials.
To celebrate the reopening, we're hosting a community BBQ on Hume Clean Day, Saturday 2 September.
Please be patient with the team while we put the finishing touches in place, and we hope to see you soon!
