We're seeking an artist, designer or a group of creative practitioners to create an original artwork or design in the Victorian Aboriginal design tradition that can be displayed and printed digitally on Council-owned and produced assets.

The project is an opportunity for an artist or designer to have their work commissioned by Hume City Council to connect our staff, visitors and community to a visual identity that references Victorian Aboriginal design traditions.

We are looking for a work that will connect with our shared role in healing and building positive relationships between Council and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as acting as a catalyst for educating the broader public, our staff, and community about the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages, cultures and histories. The selected work will support Hume City Council’s Reconciliation Action Plan, which includes a commitment to provide a culturally safe workplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

Applications open on Saturday 26 August and close on Thursday 14 September 2023 at 2pm.

A drop-in session will be held on Thursday 7 September if you would like more information on submitting your application.
