COVID-19 financial hardship support

Annual rates notices are on their way and will arrive by mid-September. 

We know many people in our community may be experiencing financial hardship. If COVID-19 has made it hard for you to pay your rates, there are a number of options available to you. 

Please wait until you receive your notice before applying for a payment arrangement as you will need important information such as your property reference number and the total amount owing to submit your application.

Your options

Step 1.Set-up a payment plan

You can apply for a weekly, fortnightly or monthly direct debit payment plan to spread the payment of your rates.

Step 2.Make changes to an existing COVID-19 payment plan

If you currently have a payment plan with us, but now need to make changes, you can apply for a new payment arrangement.

Step 3.Defer this quarter's instalment

In cases of extreme financial hardship we will consider a short-term deferral of your rates.

Please note, Council will not charge interest on any outstanding balances between 1 June 2020 and 31 December 2020. Penalty interest rates will apply to any outstanding balances as of 1 January 2021.
