COVID-19 financial hardship support

We know many people in our community may be experiencing financial hardship. If COVID-19 has made it hard for you to pay your rates, there are a number of options available to you. 

Please wait until you receive your notice before applying for a payment arrangement as you will need important information such as your property reference number and the total amount owing to submit your application.

Your options

Step 1.Set-up a payment plan

You can apply for a weekly, fortnightly or monthly direct debit payment plan to spread the payment of your rates.

Step 2.Make changes to an existing COVID-19 payment plan

If you currently have a payment plan with us, but now need to make changes, you can apply for a new payment arrangement.

Step 3.Defer this quarter's instalment

In cases of extreme financial hardship we will consider a short-term deferral of your rates.

Council is currently not charging interest on any outstanding balances, however we encourage ratepayers who can continue to make payments to please do so. The legislated penalty interest rate will apply to any outstanding balances as of 1 July 2021.
