Education Scholarship Program

Hume Education Scholarship Trophy and Certificate Table

The 2024 Education Scholarship nominations were formally approved by Council on Monday 9 October. Across Council, 56 students were awarded the scholarship grant.  The secondary schools will administer and acquit the funding, and this can be done by using the Education-Scholarships-2024-Acquittal.pdf(PDF, 38KB)

Our Education Scholarship Program was established in 1999 and is available to selected Year Six students, who live and attend a primary school within Hume City.

The fund supports Hume City families by providing assistance with the costs of their child starting secondary school. Each student nominated by their school receives a grant of $1000 to assist with the cost of uniforms, books, school fees and excursions during the first year of high school.

Nominations should outline:

  • How the student demonstrates good qualities of citizenship and progress in all areas of the school curriculum, and
  • Why the student requires support in the transition from primary to secondary school.
