What we did 

We've upgraded the existing fenced dog park to create a better experience for dogs and their owners. The new improvements were completed in August 2026 and include:

• concrete paths
• additional seating
• new trees to provide more shade
• new sensory area for dogs
• refreshed landscaping, vegetation and irrigation,

   

Why we did it

Hume City Council received a grant from the State Government as part of their New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program. The aims of the program include:

• investing in off-leash areas to meet the growing demand for people to socialise and exercise their dog off-leash
• facilitating upgrades of existing dog off-leash areas to support contemporary needs and future longevity
• contributing to urban greening, cooling and shading of local neighbourhoods
• improving connectivity of open spaces with other points of interest and activity
• increasing accessibility and safety of park users for all abilities and all genders; and
• supporting involvement of Traditional Custodians.

Partnerships

Council has received a grant of $265,000 from the State Government as part of their New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program to complete this project.
