Hume City Council is inviting community members to help shape the design of Hume’s first official civic emblem.
The Civic Emblem Project is an opportunity for residents to contribute to a lasting symbol that reflects Hume’s history, culture, diversity and strong sense of community.
Council is seeking expressions of interest from up to nine community members to join the Civic Emblem Sub-Committee, which will include both Councillors and community members. The Sub-Committee will make recommendations to Council following a process of community consultation.
The emblem will recognise the history, heritage and identity of Hume City Council and its former municipalities, and First Peoples, in recognition of the 30th anniversary of the Council’s foundation.
Council is seeking applicants from a range of backgrounds, including people with interest in:
Community identity
Design and storytelling
Culture and the stories that make Hume unique
