Stitched Up Planting Program (10-14 yrs) - Spring School Holidays

Come along to the Stitched-Up Planting Program and learn how to grow your own leafy greens and herbs in portable growing spaces.

Discover the basics of creating a healthy growing environment by learning about composting, mulching, well-draining soil, and simple ways to manage common garden pests and weeds.

This hands-on program combines learning and creativity, giving participants the opportunity to develop practical gardening skills while creating something they can continue to build on at home.

About the facilitator:
Thom Fox is an award-winning environmental educator and consultant specialising in facilitating hands-on engaging experiences with organics recycling. He is particularly passionate about the connections with nature through the food we consume.

Please wear suitable clothing for this activity.
Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Booking terms - Hume Youth Services are hosting a range of free activities to enjoy these school holidays. All programs have limited availability, and some require online registration.

The Youth Services unit supports young people aged 6 - 24 who have strong connections to City of Hume. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian/responsible adult to choose programs that are suitable for their young person.

Hume Youth Services have right of refusal for your booking, if selected programs do not meet the needs or age of your young person.

Bookings close 2 business days prior to the activity date to allow for all participant information to be processed.
