Update on waste collections in Hume

Thank you to everyone who put their bins out on Saturday for the catch‑up collection. We collected over 20,000 bins that were previously missed due to ASU (Australian Services Union) industrial action, and we understand how important this service is for many households.

Industrial action is continuing, and as shared last week, the nature of these work bans means it isn’t always possible to predict exactly which collections may be affected or on which day.

Bin collections are continuing, but they may not always occur on the usual scheduled day. Please continue to put your red‑lid bin out on your usual collection day.

If your bin is missed, please wait until after your scheduled collection day before reporting it.

Sunbury and surrounding suburbs

A catch‑up collection will take place on Saturday 25 April 2026 for households within the red boundary shown on the map below.

This includes residents in: Sunbury, Goonawarra, Bulla, Diggers Rest, Oaklands Junction, Keilor and Wildwood.

If you live in one of these areas, please put your red‑lid bin out on Friday evening (24 April) for collection on Saturday 25, April.

This catch‑up collection will help collect missed bins and allow households with excess waste to place their bin out. To help us prioritise those most in need, please only put your bin out if it was missed or you have additional waste.

Has your bin been missed?

If your bin has not been collected after your collection day, report your missed bin here.
