What your rates pay for

Your rates are at work all year round, funding essential services at every stage of life from childhood to older age, in the Hume community. 

They help to build a better Hume, support the places where our community comes together and fund 25 services which deliver 100+ programs and activities.  

Your rates help deliver projects that support the needs of our growing and diverse community. From Craigieburn, to Sunbury, to Roxburgh Park, to Tullamarine and everything in between, we’re investing in your future. 

In the next 12 months your rates and charges will help fund:

  • $82.92m – Family & Community Services 
  • $77.76m – Waste Management 
  • $63.35m – Parks, Reserves & Environment 
  • $58.55m – Community, Facilities, Libraries & the Arts 
  • $42.40m – Planning & Building Control 
  • $37.50m – Sports Ground & Facilities 
  • $25.05m – Aged & Disability Services 
  • $21.84m – Growth and Development 
  • $18.30m – Governance & Administration 
  • $12.39m – Public Order & Safety 
  • $5.76m – Business & Economic Services
