The effectiveness of all vaccines reduce over time, which is why staying up to date with your COVID-19 vaccination program has never been more important.
Hume City's third dose rates remain well below the rest of the state, with only 58.4 per cent of our community having had their booster shot compared with the Victorian average of 69.4 per cent.
Whether it is getting your third booster shot (ages 16+) or fourth winter dose (ages 30+) every shot helps to provide additional protection for our community, particularly to older and vulnerable community members.
That is why we are providing easier access to vaccine sites in Broadmeadows and Craigieburn this weekend and planning additional pop-ups across Hume City in the weeks ahead.
During this time we are also proud to be launching a new vaccine awareness video that is currently running across our social media and in cinema at the Hoyts Broadmeadows, Reading Sunbury, and United Craigieburn complexes.
We all know an older relative or vulnerable friend who needs special protection from COVID-19.
By making sure we all stay up to date we can significantly reduce the spread of the virus and increase our chances of staying well if we do catch it.
Now is the time to play your part and protect all of Hume from COVID-19.
