You are invited to participate in the Community Safety Month 2021 activities!

Community Safety Month is held across Hume every October and reminds us that we all have a role to play in keeping our community safe.

The activities are focused on the four themes in the Safe in Hume: Our Community Safety Plan 2020-2022, to ensure that Hume City is an ‘active, harmonious, safe city where everyone who lives, works or visits participates responsibly without fear or risk of injury’.

The four themes include:

1. Community safety in the public realm

2. Safety around the home

3. Transport safety

4. Family violence and women’s safety

View the list of activities below for more information and to see how you can participate.

Week Without Violence: The Clothesline Project

Week Without Violence: The Clothesline Project

The Week Without Violence (WWV) is an annual campaign during the third week of October to end violence against women.

Every year, people across Hume mark the WWV by painting T-shirts. The Clothesline Project concept is simple: each participant expresses their feelings about family violence, on a T-shirt.

To support participation while in lockdown, a paper T-shirt template is available to download.

Find out more about what you can write, draw or paint on your T-shirt.

Date: Monday 18 October to Sunday 24 October 2021

Email a photo of your T-shirt or drawing to Women’s Health in the North’s Northern Integrated Family Violence Service (NIFVS) at info@whin.org.au, or upload it to your social media and use the hashtag #WWV.
