Celebrating harmony at Hume Interfaith Sports Day
Published on 24 March 2026
Community members are invited to come together in the spirit of unity, inclusion and cultural understanding at the Hume Interfaith Sports Day on Saturday 28 March 2026.
The Interfaith Sports Day is an annual community celebration held in Hume during Harmony Week to bring our many diverse communities — including residents from 156 different countries speaking over 150 languages — together in a fun community setting.
Harmony Week begins on 21 March (Harmoney Day) and celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity and highlights the shared values of inclusiveness, respect and belonging.
This date also marks the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The Hume Interfaith Sports Day is an opportunity for the community to stand together in support of harmony and mutual respect.
The free, family‑friendly event invites people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to be part of an afternoon of connection, sport and celebration.
We'll have a variety of Come & Try sports activities suited to beginners and all skill levels, along with vibrant cultural performances that showcase the diversity of our community.
Information stalls will be available for those wanting to learn more about local programs and services, and a free community BBQ will be provided.
The event is proudly delivered by the Hume Interfaith Network (HIN), and reflects Hume’s commitment to having a welcoming and inclusive community for all.
