The Youth Central Training Café (YCTC) supports young people aged 18-24 in Hume who are interested in gaining practical skills for employment in the hospitality industry. 

Delivered in partnership with Jesuit Community College, this no-cost course offers hands-on barista and café operations training.  

Training is government funded for eligible participants. Eligibility criteria apply.

What is included?

Participants will receive a Certificate I in General Education for Adults (Introductory), which includes training in Responsible Service of Alcohol, Food Handling and operational skills for a commercial espresso coffee machine. Participants will also receive support for finding work in hospitality and resume building.

Eligibility

Participants must:

  • be between 18-24 years old
  • be connected to Hume
  • have or be willing to obtain a USI and volunteer Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • not currently be enrolled in secondary school
