The Youth Central Training Café (YCTC) is targeted at young people aged 18-24 connected to Hume who are interested in gaining new skills for potential employment in the Hospitality industry. 

Hume Youth Services & Jesuit Community College are partnering to offer a free course at Youth Central, Broadmeadows!

Expressions of Interest for Term 1 2026 are now closed.

Applications for Term 3 (August 2026) will reopen later in the year. Updates will be shared here and across our social channels.

Please note as this course is government-funded, there are strict eligibility requirements.

What is included?

Participants will receive a Certificate I in General Education for Adults which includes training in Responsible Service of Alcohol, Food Handling, and operational skills for a commercial espresso coffee machine. Participants will also receive support for finding work in hospitality and resume building.

Eligibility

Participants must:

  • be between 18-24 years old.
  • be connected to Hume.
  • have or be willing to obtain a USI and volunteer Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • not be currently enrolled in secondary school.
