What we are doing 

This project is proposing to upgrade two sections of Carrick Drive, Gladstone Park:

  • 360m between Samara Grove and Vaucluse Avenue.
  • 400m between South Circular Road and Pyke Drive.

The proposed works will include:

  • reconstruction of the road pavement
  • construction of a raised intersection at Elmhurst Road
  • construction of four wide speed humps appropriate for bus use
  • removal of existing chicane traffic treatments
  • removal of three trees along Carrick Drive and one on Elmhurst Road
  • new drainage infrastructure where required.

Why are we doing these works? 

These works support Council's commitment to maintaining local infrastructure and responding to the needs of a growing community and increased traffic volumes, while delivering a safer, more durable road and improved driving conditions on Carrick Drive.

When will works commence?

This project is currently in a design phase and we'll continue to keep the community informed once the construction program is established.

Construction is planned to commence in the 2026/2027 financial year subject to contractor and material availability.
