We are excited to announce that Hume City Council is bringing management of the Sunbury Resource Recovery Centre and Landfill in-house. Our focus will be on delivering an excellent experience for our residents and customers.

We will be making improvements to maximise resource recovery and provide a safer, more reliable service for our community. To do this safely, we need to temporarily close the Resource Recovery Centre and tip shop.

These sites will be closed from 4pm, Sunday 30 July 2023 and will reopen at 8am, Monday 28 August 2023.

The landfill site will also be closed during this time, with further updates to come.

In the meantime, we encourage residents to take advantage of our free hard waste collections. Every household in Hume is entitled to two free collections from their home every year. You can make a booking and find out more here.
