Ask us a question!

We want to make sure everyone in Hume has the knowledge and services they need to make it easy to keep Hume clean.

Here’s how we’re doing our part.

Free waste services for residents

We provide a range of services to Hume residents to help you get rid of your rubbish. These include hard waste and bundled branches collections, access to our Resource Recovery Centres and quarterly Hume Clean Days where you can drop off certain items for free.

Community education

Our Waste Response team operates across 12 hot spot suburbs every day where they talk to residents about how to use our free services and prevent dumped rubbish. We also visit schools and community groups to provide waste and recycling education.

Public bins

Garbage, recycling and cigarette bins are located throughout Hume City’s parks, sporting facilities and shopping areas. We make sure they are emptied and maintained.

Street cleaning and picking up litter

Our street cleaners work hard every day to sweep our roads, footpaths and parks to keep them free of litter and debris. We also pick up litter in our parks and gardens.

Graffiti removal kits

We provide graffiti removal kits to residents to help clean up graffiti on their property. Contact us if you need a kit.

Shopping trolley laws

We work with local retailers to help them retrieve abandoned shopping trolleys and comply with our local laws about shopping trolley stewardship.

Cleaning up dumped rubbish

We investigate dumped rubbish to make sure any hazards are properly managed. We then arrange to have the rubbish removed. This might include engaging specialists if hazardous waste is present.
