The International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) is observed annually on 17 May to raise awareness and combat discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer and asexual (LGBTQIA+) individuals.

This year’s global IDAHOBIT theme is “At the heart of democracy” to remind us that truly democratic societies must be grounded in justice and freedom for everyone.

Flag Raising Ceremony in Sunbury

Hume City Council is committed to supporting LGBTIQA+ communities and we are excited to be hosting a flag-raising ceremony in collaboration with Omnia Community Health, DPV Health, and the Sunbury and Surrounds LGBTIQ Social Club and other community organisations.

Please join us for this free event:

4pm, Thursday 14 May
Sunbury Library HGLC
44 Macedon Street, Sunbury

The ceremony will include live music, face painting, fun activities and guest speakers.
