Hume Gender Equity in Sport (HGESN) Session #3

The Hume Gender Equity in Sport Network (HGESN) will be hosting the HGESN Session #3, on Monday 31 August, Online via Zoom from 12pm – 1pm.

This session is focused on leadership, governance and gender equity in sport. Hear from sector leaders and local club champions who are driving positive change and creating more inclusive sporting environments.

This session will include:

  • Learn about the Hume Gender Equity in Sport Network (HGESN) and how the network is supporting clubs and sporting organisations to advance gender equity across the Hume community.
  • Hear from Olsen Clark, Senior Policy Officer – Gender Equity, Sport & Recreation Victoria, on Victoria’s Balance the Board Policy—a significant governance reform aimed at strengthening leadership, enhancing decision-making, and fostering more diverse and representative boards across the sporting sector.
  • Gain insights from Sheridan Long, the first female President of Sunbury United Soccer Club, as she shares the club’s journey in creating opportunities for women and girls and the initiatives that contributed to being recognised as Football Australia’s 2024 Game Changer Club of the Year.
  • Discover the Australian Sports Commission’s (ASC) Game Plan – Women & Girls Module, a practical online tool designed to help clubs assess their current practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive meaningful progress towards gender equity through tailored resources and action planning.
