Seasonal Allocation

Council's Sport and Recreation team is responsible for the booking of all Council owned and controlled reserves and pavilions, for both seasonal and casual usage.

Due to the high demand and limited availability of reserves and pavilions, if you are a new club to Hume please contact Council prior to submitting an application.

Seasonal Allocation Periods

Council’s seasonal allocation periods are in accordance with the Victorian State Government’s Division of Seasons and Occupation of Crown Lands. The defined allocation periods are:

  • Summer Season: 1 October – 30 March
  • Winter Season: 1 April – 30 September 

When and how long are seasonal allocations open for?

Applications for a seasonal allocation will be open two months before the allocation start date and will remain open for an approximate period of three weeks. Applications will be directly emailed to previous tenants.

What is the eligibility criteria to apply for a seasonal allocation?

For a club to be eligible for an allocation to utilise a Council reserve or facility, the applicant must:

  • Be legally incorporated and not-for-profit.
  • Have no outstanding debt with Council or a State Sporting Association.
  • Have an elected committee.
  • Have the majority of registered club members residing within Hume City.
  • Have current public liability insurance.
  • Not include references to the names of towns, suburbs, municipalities, cities or countries other than within Hume City in their club name.

What can your club do to prepare?

To prepare for a seasonal allocation application, your club can complete the following:

  • Keep up to date with your State Sporting Association’s guidelines and protocols, as well as consulting with your SSA and continuing to update COVIDSafe plans.
  • Keep up to date with the latest advice from Department of Health & Human Services.
