Hume City Council is deeply saddened to share the passing of Muna Yazdin, Bilingual Community Engagement Officer, and a valued member of our organisation for over 20 years.
On Tuesday 2 June, Muna was involved in a serious pedestrian and car accident in Westmeadows. Sadly, we have since been advised that she has passed away.
Council will recognise Muna’s contribution to Hume through a condolence motion Tuesday night.
Muna was deeply respected across Hume and beyond, for her compassion, dedication and tireless work strengthening connections with multicultural communities. Through her work, including many years facilitating Assyrian bilingual Storytime, Muna created meaningful opportunities for connection, inclusion and belonging. She was a trusted and valued voice within the community, and her impact will be felt by many.
Our thoughts are with Muna’s family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched.
