Have your say about Hume’s first civic emblem
Published on 19 October 2026
Hume City Council is exploring the creation of an official civic emblem that reflects the history and identity of the City of Hume and its First Peoples. We want to hear from you about what you would like to be included in this emblem.
This is an opportunity for people across Hume to contribute to a symbol that celebrates our history, culture, diversity and strong sense of community.
What is a civic emblem?
A civic emblem is an official symbol that reflects a city's history, values and identity, and can be used to represent the community for future generations. It can also help to tell the story of an area and its people.
Emblems often feature local animals, plants, and landmarks. As part of this consultation, Hume residents have the chance to suggest features and stories that could be included on the emblem.
The civic emblem would not replace Hume City Council's logo. Civic emblems are usually used for more ceremonial purposes.
How to get involved
If you want to share what you love about Hume and the stories you want the emblem to tell, visit the Civic Emblem consultation page and complete the form before Sunday 15 November 2026.
