Transport Strategy
Hume City Council has adopted a new Transport Strategy on 8 July 2024.
The Transport Strategy 2024-2034(PDF, 8MB) prioritises equitable and accessible transport choices to residents, workers, and visitors. As we work towards achieving sustainable walking, cycling, public transport and road networks that provide more viable transport options for everyone, the Strategy will guide Council's investment and advocacy on transport over the next 10 years.
The Strategy was finalised after a community consultation period from November 2023 to April 2024. We recognised that local transport options needed to be safer and more convenient to enable better connectivity between home, work, and places of community, particularly within our rapidly growing areas.
Council will begin implementation of Transport Strategy 2024-2034 by preparing localised Transport Plans alongside the full complement of actions listed in the Strategy. These localised Plans will investigate transport needs, prioritise, and advocate for projects in local areas.
Bicycle Network Plan
Council also developed a Bicycle Network(PDF, 5MB) Plan which was adopted on 9 February 2015. This plan identifies a network of off-road and on-road paths to suit a range of cycling abilities and purposes.
