Literacy Mini Workshop- Learmonth Street

The mini workshop is designed to support educators to:

• Implement small‑group reading sessions where all children engage with the same book
• Build comprehension of the beginning, middle, and end of a story
• Unpack key concepts and themes within texts
• Promote care and respect for books in early learning environments

Each service is invited to nominate one educator to attend. This educator will then be responsible for sharing the learning and practical strategies with their team on return to the service.

To support the session, we ask participants to bring one or two duplicate picture books from their service. These will be used to help build class sets of picture books that all services can utilise in their programs. Many services may already have duplicate books available from Dolly Parton Imagination Library packs or older Kinder Kits.
