Home Energy Upgrades

Registrations for the Hume Home Energy Upgrades program are currently paused.
This follows a decision by the Board of Yarra Energy Foundation (YEF), a program partner, to place the organisation into voluntary administration.
The administrators and Hume City Council officers are currently working through the next steps. Future updates will be posted on the webpage below.

Insulation and draught proofing

If you registered for insulation and draught proofing before 19 October 2026, the appointed supplier, Enviroflex, will continue to provide no-obligation quotes and, if you choose to proceed, installation services.

Solar and home electrification

Quotes and installations for solar panels, batteries, reverse cycle heating and cooling, heat pump hot water systems and induction cooktops remain paused. Future updates about the program and these upgrades will be posted on this webpage.

Yarra Energy Foundation’s role in the program

Yarra Energy Foundation provides free home energy efficiency advice to Hume residents and oversees the suppliers/installers delivering home energy upgrades.
The suppliers/installers are independent companies and are separate from Yarra Energy Foundation. The voluntary administration applies to Yarra Energy Foundation only.
