Free Tax Help 2026 Now Available

Hume City Council is proud to once again offer a free and confidential Tax Help service in partnership with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). The service is delivered by dedicated volunteers recruited through the Hume Volunteer Gateway and trained and accredited by the ATO to assist eligible residents with their tax returns.

This service assists residents who earned less than $70,000 in the last financial year to complete and lodge their tax returns.

The Tax Help program is available in Broadmeadows, Craigieburn and Westmeadows.

From 20 July to 31 October each year, Tax Help volunteers assist eligible individuals with lodging their tax returns. Bookings open from 1 July.
