Detox Your Home - Free Household Chemical Disposal Service

In addition to Council's Resource Recovery Centres, Sustainability Victoria also hosts free collection days. The Sustainability Victoria program helps you to dispose of old and unwanted chemicals in an environmentally responsible way. Some household chemicals can be dangerous to children and pets, release toxic fumes and add extra fuel to a house fire. Pouring them down the drain or placing them out with your garbage can pollute creeks and rivers, harming plants and animals. Detox Your Home mobile collections are for all Victorian householders, no matter where you live.

Register for this free event online or call 1800 353 233. A full list of upcoming Detox Your Home collections is available on Sustainability Victoria's website.

The next mobile collection point close to Hume will be in Melton on Saturday 3 June at the Melton Civic Centre (232 High St, Melton) from 10am - 2pm. Registrations are required to drop off chemicals at these mobile sites.
