Panel discussions, stalls and interactive workshops designed to help shape your career post high school - no further study required!

Led by Hume Youth Service's Youth Innovation Committee and in partnership with Hume Youth Services, Brotherhood of St Laurence and headspace, WORKS IN PROGRESS - A Pathway to Your Future aims to help shape alternative pathways for students and young people who are unsure of their next steps.

The event is intended to explore diverse and non-traditional education, training and employment options such as visitor economy, sporting pathways, hospitality, health sector and more. Current themes being explored include:

  • Relatable lived-experience conversations
  • Cultural and gender expectations
  • Self-advocacy (understanding boundaries, identifying red flags, and speaking up)
  • Alternative pathway industries (including visitor economy and emerging industries)
  • Creative approaches to seeking employment

The event will include a youth-led panel discussion, interactive workshops and engaging stalls from industry, businesses and local service providers. Lunch will be provided!

This Youth Summit is targeting senior secondary students (Year 10-12), early school leavers and young people up to 24 years old who are uncertain about education, training or employment pathways.
