Brett Watson (he/him) - Youth Engagement and Pathways Officer

Brett is one of the Youth Engagement and Pathways Officers. Brett has been a youth worker for the last five years and has worked in the community sector for over ten years supporting refugees, asylum seekers and people newly arrived to Australia.

Brett’s role is centred on delivering programs that support young people to identify and engage in pathways leading to meaningful employment and/or enrolment in education or training.  

Outside of work, Brett’s a keen New York Rangers fan (NHL – ice hockey), enjoys photography as his creative outlet and tries to travel as often as financially/physically possible. 

Roomanna Abdulrahman (she/her) - Youth Engagement and Pathways Officer

Roomanna is one of the Youth Engagement & Pathways Officers. She has worked in the youth and community sector for the past eight years, supporting young people from multicultural, migrant, and refugee backgrounds across education pathways, settlement, and advocacy. Roomanna joined the PEP team in late August 2025 and helps plan and deliver programs that support young people across Hume to engage in education, training, and employment opportunities. 

Roomanna enjoys checking out new brunch spots and spending time with friends and family.

Em Dewhurst (they/them) - Youth Engagement Support Officer

Em is the Youth Engagement and Support Officer. Em has worked in the youth sector and community services for over 4 years. Em is responsible for supporting the team to plan and deliver programs for young people through support, engagement and positive pathways that can help them find employment or education opportunities. Em is passionate about creating inclusive and accessible services for all young people. 

Em loves to go bouldering, going on hikes, or sitting in a park with a good book (or podcast). Em also loves to cook and bake, frequently attempting new dishes.
