Hume City Council ‘s inaugural Fix-It Fair event is a celebration of home repair, reuse and recycling skills. This free community event is designed to help residents extend the life of household items, save money, and reduce waste going to landfill.

The Fix-It Fair is packed with free demonstrations and interactive stalls that will inspire residents to roll up their sleeves and get creative at home. Learn how to:

  • Start composting like a pro
  • Pickle your kitchen scraps
  • Repair wooden furniture
  • Save seeds for your garden
  • Make your own eco-friendly cleaning products
  • Support local wildlife in your backyard
  • And much more!

The Fix-It Fair is proudly presented by Hume’s Sustainability Engagement and Waste and Sustainability Teams and supports the Keep Hume Clean campaign with fun recycling games and a pop-up stall for residents to ask questions about waste, recycling and the Container Deposit Scheme.

There will also be home energy reduction information, information on biodiversity events and community gardens, Men’s Sheds and a Bike n Blend smoothie stall.

Whether you're a DIY enthusiast or curious about living more sustainably, there’s something for everyone.
