Victorian Youth Fest
Hume's Youth Innovation Committee (YIC) and HYPE Amplify Committee planned and delivered Town Hall Takeover as part of Victorian Government's Youth Fest 2025.
Youth Fest Town Hall Takeover was a huge success, bringing together 85 young people aged 12–24 for an afternoon of fun, connection, and community.
The event featured a wide range of stallholders including Youth Projects, Brotherhood of St Laurence (BSL), Arabic Welfare, Youth Junction, headspace, and Hume Libraries. Stallholders included members of Hume HYPE Amplify and the Youth Innovation Committee, who joined other local young people to celebrate youth voice and creativity. Each stallholder provided an interactive activity alongside information about their services, making it easy for attendees to connect and engage.
Young people also enjoyed a variety of activities and vendors, including a photo booth (Eltham Kids Party Hire), arcade machines (Arcade Hire), gaming consoles (Level Up Gaming Events), and fresh popcorn (New Trend Party Hire). Volunteers from the Town Hall Café served up hot drinks, cold drinks, and spiders, keeping everyone refreshed throughout the day.
A highlight of the event was the live performance from local band Civilians, who brought high energy and fun to the space.
Overall, the day was a vibrant celebration of youth in Hume, with everyone enjoying the diverse range of activities, entertainment, and opportunities to connect.
