Exploring the Elements - Sirius College

Artwork for Exhibition Poster.jpg

Sirius College has two of its four campuses in Broadmeadows. Exploring the Elements is the school’s annual cross-campus exhibition with a selection of work by students from years 7-12, showcasing Visual Arts, Graphic Design, VCD and photography.

Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky and has been used as the symbol of illumination and light in many cultures throughout history. The name ‘Sirius’ directly connects with the College’s educational vision of raising the students as stars with illuminating hearts and minds.

The elements of art are the building blocks that help young artists communicate. Learning to harness the visual elements is one of the meaningful steps to being able to question a position within society and to feel empowered to make oneself heard.

Perspectives broaden, change and are challenged with each new generation. This exhibition highlights the power of the Arts within the school’s community and its importance in guiding the students as the voice of tomorrow.

Emerging Sirius College artists explore their place within the modern world through colour, line, shape, texture, form, tone and space.
