From August to October 2025, Hume City Council ran a free Photography Mentorship Program for young people aged 18 to 25 living in Hume. The program supported emerging creatives to build their skills, connect with their community, and express their artistic voice.

Participants received:

  • One-on-one mentorship from a professional photographer
  • Opportunities to experiment, collaborate, and build their portfolio
  • A group exhibition in late October to showcase their work

This initiative was part of Hume City Council’s Children and Young People Partnership, delivered through VicHealth’s Victorian Local Government Partnership (VLGP). It focused on equity and inclusion, helping young creatives share their stories through visual art.
