Hume City Council is excited to be supporting more IDAHOBIT activities this year. We are celebrating in different ways and are also supporting activities run by the Sunbury Aboriginal Corporation and Sunbury Cobaw Community Health.

Council is committed to the support and inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex, queer, gender diverse and asexual (LGBTIQA+) communities.

The International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexphobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) took place on Saturday 17 May 2025. It is a global day that acknowledges and raises awareness about the harms caused by discrimination to members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Flag Raising Ceremony in Sunbury

Co-presented with Sunbury Cobaw Community Health, to mark the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia we held a flag raising ceremony at the Sunbury Library. The formal rainbow flag-raising ceremony was followed by musical performances, face painting, art & craft activities, and refreshments.
